To commemorate BeInCrypto’s third anniversary, we celebrate some recent achievements and look ahead at what’s still in store.
BeInCrypto has been a publication dedicated to cryptocurrencies and fintech since 2018. The goal of the project has been to inject transparency into an industry plagued with fake news, unlabeled sponsorships, and paid articles made to look like honest journalism.
BeInCrypto generally provides four main types of content, the first of which are quick and concise news reports. The website also provides thorough technical analyses for many cryptocurrencies, including altcoins, decentralized finance (DeFi), and non-fungible tokens (NFT). Writers also compose more detailed analysis pieces that go in-depth on a wide range of topics and BeInCrypto also offers an educational section where users can learn all the basics about blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
Currently, BeInCrypto has over four million monthly page views, with 700,000 new users each month. The website has nearly doubled its global unique users from 15 million in 2020 to 35 million so far this year.
Besides the many traffic milestones BeInCrypto surpassed in the past year, perhaps the most notable has been industry recognition. In March, financial services company ADVFN awarded BeInCrypto the Best Website for Cryptocurrency News at the 2021 International Financial Awards.
ADVFN cited BeInCrypto as a leading source for news in the cryptocurrency industry, highlighting BIC’s commitment to transparency in “an industry rife with disingenuous reporting, unlabeled sponsored articles, and paid news masquerading as honest journalism.”
It also highlighted BIC as an initial adopter of the Google Trust Project principles. The announcement also emphasized the diversity of BIC’s market, reporting in 10 different languages. Finally, it recognized BIC’s breadth of content offerings including news, charts, social media, a trading community, learn, and academy.
Women in crypto
In addition to the website gaining recognition, so has one of its co-founders, CEO Alena Afanaseva. In June, Afanaseva was selected as a speaker at the WomenTech Global Conference 2021. Afanaseva spoke about how to build a multinational media company in blockchain and crypto. Topics covered how to build a strong multinational team, how blockchain technology is changing our present and future, and the principles of trustful journalism.
“Over the past year, we’ve covered news in ten languages, hired 120 people from 20 countries, with almost 40% of them being women. I must add that the crypto industry is usually dominated by men, but not in our case. Blockchain is changing the world, while we’re changing the world of blockchain. We can empower it with technology, education, and career opportunities to positively change the world,” Afanaseva said.
